BRANCOTT ESTATE WINES AND GEN ART PRESENT
“THE DJ GENERATION” COMPETITION
What if you had the chance to mix the soundtrack of our generation?
This summer, Gen Art and Brancott Estate Wines are partnering to discover the next big DJs of our generation. We challenge you to submit a sampling of your best mix as entry to “THE DJ GENERATION” competition.
Gen Art is an influential arts & entertainment organization that engages audiences with the best emerging talent at high profile national events. Gen Art has defined artistic, cultural and social trends for the past 16 years, and has helped launch the careers of countless influential artists, musicians, filmmakers and designers.
Do you have what it takes to win over our panel of judges that are comprised of top DJs including DJ Skribble, DJ Irie, DJ Rap, Sam Young, Danny Daze and Sean Ray? We are looking for a DJ whose style captures the essence of Brancott Estate Wines; a DJ who is fresh, lively and vibrant. Our judges will be selecting a total of six DJs (three from the West Coast and three from the East Coast) to mix at the Gen Art Summer Screening Series after parties. These exclusive events are attended by the “trendsetters” of New York and Los Angeles. Previous Screening Series events include premieres and/or screenings for movies such as Juno, The Hangover, Slumdog Millionaire, (500) Days of Summer, Youth in Revolt and Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.
Brancott Estate Wines and Gen Art encourage you to take this creative journey and enter quickly as the submission deadline is approaching fast.
What if you had the chance to mix the soundtrack of our generation?
How it works:
1. Participating DJs must register online through Sonic Bids, our online submission resource.
- Please include a bio, video links, photo and most importantly upload your mix. This mix should be between 15 & 20 minutes and incorporate three different styles of music. (Any style goes whether it’s hip-hop, house, rock, country, top 40, etc - as long as it could be the perfect after party soundtrack.)
- Additionally we would like a ‘personal statement’… What inspires you to DJ? How do you read & interact with your audience?
2.The Gen Art panel of judges will narrow submissions to 12 finalists. Judging will be based upon track selection, creativity, flow of beats and technical skills. Final selections will be made by a panel of established mainstream DJs including DJ Skribble, DJ Irie, DJ Rap, Sam Young, Danny Daze and Sean Ray.
3. Finalists will be notified by June 10th, 2011 and winners will be announced publicly at the Gen Art Film Festival on June 14th, 2011.
4. Winners will play at the Summer Screening Series after parties to be held in Los Angeles & New York throughout the summer. Dates are TBD. This gig will PAY $500 J.
