With the 16th Annual Film Festival wrapped up we at Gen Art just want to give one more big congratulations to the winners of this years festival.

Stargazer Jury recognized Rachel Boston, from ‘The Pill’ as the most talented emerging actress.
We at Gen Art were very happy to have worked with this talented group of individuals. Watch out for them, along with the rest of the group from the 2011 Gen Art Film Festival, we’re sure great things will come from them and you won’t want to miss it.
APPLY FOR FRESH FACES IN FASHION 2011!
Gen Art is looking for talented fashion designers: womenswear, menswear and accessory designers to participate in our annual Fresh Faces in Fashion shows during New York Fashion Week (September 2011) and Los Angeles Fashion Week (October 2011). Be featured in a cutting edge, high-profile runway show attended by press, retail buyers, stylists, celebrities and the Gen Art consumer audience, all courtesy of Gen Art and participating partners.
Fresh Faces in Fashion has been featuring the best emerging womenswear, menswear, swimwear and accessory designers for over 10 years. See below for how to apply to the show that launched Zac Posen, Philip Lim, Geren Ford, Rebecca Taylor, Rory Beca and many others!
Who can apply?
Fashion designers who have been in business for 1-7 years, will be producing at least 10 looks for their Spring 2012 collection and have shipped and sold to at least one store. Lines that have shown before in a NY runway show cannot be considered.
How do I apply?
Please send a current lookbook (Fall 2011), bio and list of stores to fashion@genart.org with the name of your line and desired city in the subject line. Please only apply for one show.
Which show should I apply to?
Designers from the East Coast, Southeastern U.S. and Europe will be considered for the NY Show. Designers from the West Coast, Midwest and Southwestern U.S. along with the Pacific Rim will be considered for the Los Angeles show.
REQUIREMENTS:
In order to be eligible to participate in Gen Art’s Fresh Faces in Fashion show, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Designer currently has a full collection to show (at least 10 looks).
- Designer must design under their own label and have been designing under their own name for 1 -7 years.
- Designer must have sold and shipped at least one season for their current label to 2 boutiques or stores, private custom ordered items do not qualify as sales.
- Designer has never shown their label in a runway presentation during New York or Los Angeles fashion weeks.
SUBMISSIONS:
If you meet the above requirements, please send one email with the following items to fashion@genart.org.
- A Bio and/or Press Kit (include your email, phone number and address)
- A current lookbook (Fall 2011)
- Completed Fresh Faces in Fashion Application (attached in this email)
SUBMISSION DEADLINE NY: JULY 10th SUBMISSION DEADLINE LA: AUG 10th
Incomplete submissions or submissions received after this date will not be considered. If you have already submitted and received confirmation, there is no need to re-submit. All parties will be contacted no later than 30 days after submission if further information is desired.
Up to eight runway designers and accessory designers will be chosen by Gen Art and a Selection Committee made up of distinguished industry professionals.

Meanwhile… J.C. Khoury’s The Pill and Jennifer Suhr’s Saeng-il (Birthday)took home the Festival’s coveted Audience Award. Rachel Boston, also from ‘The Pill’ was recognized by the “Stargazer” Jury as the most talented emerging actor!
The Brancott Estate DJ Generation Competition Winners were also announced last night. They are… (drumroll)…. Mr. Martell, DJ Journey, DJ Chris Sealy (all in NY) and The Royal We DJs, DJ Beau and DJ Lady Sha (in LA).
